Love and giving

Love is special, no matter who you are, or where you’re from; whether you are a criminal or a saint, everybody experiences love, and want its unconditional potential.

What is love?

I will not try to define the undefinable, but I believe love is the essence of our being it is what allows for procreation and therefore preserves our species. On a deeper level, it is what gives us purpose and rejuvenates our mind, body and soul.

Love is about giving without expecting anything in return.

Giving is a gesture which happens with no pre-meditation, calculation or manipulation. It happens with sincere humility and pure desire to satisfy another soul.

When we give for the purpose of giving it feels powerful. When we know that the output coming purely from love for someone else is helping them or making them feel a positive flow, it naturally brings us our own sense of accomplishment and self-love.

This special action of giving without expectation is incredibly important as it allows us to practice humility, compassion, selflessness and it allows for us to also love ourselves in a humble manner.

Real love is freedom. Romantic love is the joyful and playful union of 2 beings. It is when two people connect on a deeper plane of being, and like the air, it is something we cannot see, but can feel.

The following concept is a hard one for all of us to accomplish or even to wrap our heads around, and something I myself have not yet accomplished, but I truly believe that true love has no expectation, no fear and can neither be possessed or lost. It allows for complete freedom in union.

So, what is my point?

Love more. Practice opening your heart to giving and receiving love. Love for yourself, love for what you do, love for others and of course…love for life.

Happy Valentine’s day, I hope you have a lovely, loving day.
